Trovr x West Suffolk Council – Driving Local Recycling Innovation

In collaboration with West Suffolk Council and community stakeholders, Trovr is redefining recycling through technology, engagement, and sustainability. This trial aims to inspire residents to recycle smarter while supporting local businesses and preparing the community for the upcoming national Deposit Return Scheme (DRS).

How the West Suffolk Recycling Trial Works

  1. Deposit: Residents bring their single-use drink containers (plastic bottles and cans) to designated recycling locations equipped with Trovr QUBE recycling machines.
  2. Verification: The machine verifies and identifies each container as recyclable.
  3. Rewards: Users earn points through the Trovr app for every container recycled. Points can be redeemed for online discounts, entry into cash giveaways, or with participating local businesses.

Benefits of the Trial

This initiative offers a range of benefits for the community and environment:

  • Increased Recycling Rates: Reduces landfill waste by encouraging more residents to recycle.
  • Community Engagement: Rewards-based incentives strengthen local environmental efforts.
  • Sustainability Goals: Supports West Suffolk Council’s sustainability targets and advances circular economy principles.
  • Economic Boost: Incentivises local shopping and supports small businesses.
  • DRS Preparation: Familiarizes the community with the upcoming national Deposit Return Scheme.
